The mission of Emory Vaccine Center is “to improve human health by conducting fundamental and clinical research that leads to the development of effective vaccines against infectious diseases of global importance.” The Emory Vaccine Center is focused on developing vaccines for two of the world’s most devastating diseases- HIV/AIDS and malaria. Currently there are over 38 million HIV/AIDS infected people in the world. This disease alone kills over 3 million people annually. Malaria is an equally devastating disease that kills at least 1 million people annually, and throws more than 300 million into acute illness. 40% of humans on earth are at risk of malaria. Finding a vaccine for either or both of these devastating diseases would, in itself, save millions of lives per year, and beget numerous secondary benefits throughout the developing countries. We will give money directly toward these two vaccines. (HIV/AIDS source: W.H.O. (World Health Organization).

International Peace Initiatives (IPI) IPI is a NGO based in Kenya and the U.S. that works on peace building, education, and assists AIDS orphans. The aim of IPI is to build working relationships with women and children so that through their initiative and others, they are empowered to raise the quality of life of people challenged by HIV/AIDS, violence, and poverty. Currently, 58% of children in Sub – Saharan Africa are enrolled in primary school – only 20% of these students will be able to continue on to secondary school. To build human capital in Sub-Sahara Africa it is imperative that children are given not only a primary education but also a secondary education as well. Each dollar that is donated to IPI will go towards secondary education tuition in Kenya. IPI has committed to place no administration fees on all funds donated from Yes Ride. Heifer International Heifer International’s mission is to "work with communities to end hunger and poverty and to care for the earth” through giving families a chance at self-sustaining life rather than short-term relief. Heifer provides families with resources such as cows, chicks, goats and tree seedlings (coupled with training) so that they will be "spared the indignity of depending on others to feed their children." Their strategy is "To 'pass on the gift.' As people share their animals' offspring with others – along with their knowledge, resources, and skills – an expanding network of hope, dignity, and self-reliance is created that reaches around the globe." "Today, millions of families in 128 countries have been given the gifts of self-reliance and hope."
Partners In Health (PIH) PIH was founded by Ophia Dahl, Dr. Paul Farmer, and Dr. Jim Kim. Their mission is to provide a preferential option for the poor in health care. Partners In Health strives to serve as an antidote to despair by bringing the benefits of modern medical science to the forgotten people of the world. In Haiti PIH is the only provider of comprehensive primary care for the impoverished rural population; in 2004 PIH had 912,000 patient encounters recorded in Haiti alone. PIH has a longstanding alliance with Harvard Medical School and is currently working in Guatemala, Haiti, Mexico, Peru, Russia, and Rwanda.
